Human Laws

Two things awe me most, the starry sky above me and the moral law within me.

Immanuel Kant

In the year 1633, something happened really bad, and dangerous. God’s words were so vulnerable. A challenge was to be confronted. Some ordinary man had dared to contradict the laws told by God. He said “Earth rotates around the Sun. Neither the public nor the custodians of humanity could bear the insult. Galileo Galily was given life imprisonment.

That barbaric mentality of resisting change without including any logic in thought still persists. The characteristics of emphasizing age-old beliefs without any question are the manifestation of finding refuge in a secured comfort zone. Spiritual pursuits or scientific endeavors have led to a date, either for better or for worse. On one hand, the peaceful confrontations of religion have shed more blood than a war with the sole objective of conquering and killing.

Man made laws

How reliable is the logic which supposedly finds a path that leads to the solution. We know what we have learnt. How can we know the things that never appeared in any form. May be in year 1850 or 1880, talking about flying machines mentioned in ancient texts looked like exaggeration. How can any thing fly. Post 1900, flight was became a reality.

The first plane

In 1900, a pastor claimed that man can never fly. God never intended humans to fly. So humans do not have wings. Very soon after, in year 1903, his sons Wilbur and Orville Wright proved him wrong. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four brief flights at Kitty Hawk with their first powered aircraft. This is a beautiful illustration of how we curtail natural rules in the name of God and over emphasize human laws.

unlimited money accumulation

In his book “Death” Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev gives a glimpse of difference in thought processes of human and Universe. Money is a man made concept.Someone accumulating wealth and money has his mind completely focused on accumulation. Now the tendency of accumulation is continued even after the person passes. His rebirth could manifest in any body like a bee which endeavors to collect as much as honey possible.

Science has many fruitful outcomes to its credit. Still, in name of defense, development, providing a better life, it developed such weapons which hold the potential to completely terminate life on this planet.

The mind that imagines and perceives that is unthinkable, has to go beyond the physicality. It needs to connect to realms which are not easily accessible.

Consider a person who is sick and wants to heal from the disease. In the period of 1700 or before it, a remote local doctor having no medicine, would attribute the sufferings to some past unknown sins. In today’s era, the accessibility to diverse opinions is available every where. What about same situation in future. Tracing the curve coming from old age, things would be far more better.

A popular rhetoric these days in context of spirituality is Soulmates. The west is coming up with this idea of soulmate to be someone of opposite sex complementing the person’s identity in such a way that brings the oneness. In ancient Hindu scriptures,

Lord Shiva and mother Parvati depicted as union of male and female forces

Seers and sages have mentioned the dual aspect of male and female in same body balancing both the forces. Keeping open to new ideas and challenging traditional belief, the urge should be to explore the fundamental aspect that has the ability to manifest in any form.

Pursuit to Self realization

Many new ideas are getting added, or should we say, are being transported from unknown domain to our known system. When a pursuit to self realization takes place, an effort to dilute earthly touch, reaching beyond human laws and connecting to the oneness by becoming more aware to universe.
